5 years ago in March of 2005, Silent Hunter III was released.

Here we are five years later, and not only are many of the bugs and glitches the same or similar, but the end users now have to try and play the game online using unreliable Ubisoft servers.

When rumors of Silent Hunter 5 started to surface in September of 2008, my initial reaction was "please let this be a 2011 release". Once the March 2010 release date was confirmed, so were my worst fears.

I've asked my wife to look at purchasing this game for me for Christmas, but only if it's under $20 and can be played offline.
