Ok. Thanks. But how does that help if I need to time distance travelled on the navigation map. I'd like to put a marker down and time how long it takes a ship to get from A to B, and therefore work out speed etc. Surely thats necessary for plotting intercept courses.

If the stopwatch has to be started in Periscope view then I can't sync it with a marker. Or do I just start the watch, go to Navigation map, wait for a suitable reference point (ie: 1 min) and then time the event. Seems a bit daft not to have a stopwatch you can use anywhere on the boat. Or do I buy a stopwatch
