The point is that if we're willing to be bribed into willingly giving up our traditional fair use rights with copyrighted materials that the situation will get markedly worse. How would you feel if you bought a book and couldn't lend it, sell it or give it away, and in addition could only read it inside a public library?
That's only a small part of what is happening here to our great enthusiasm. As it is, for the sake of a few shiny baubles the gullible public is clamoring to enter this concentration camp. Modders are helping promote it and when the smoke clears SH5 will be a shining success. Ubi will say "We are geniuses! Our DRM is the bomb! The Public loves us!" The next DRM, financed by our irresponsible behavior, will make this concentration camp look like Disney World. We are the Indians, selling Manhattan for a chest of broken glass and fake jewelry.
Welcome screen from Silent Hunter 6: "Welcome to Silent Hunter 6. Bend over, this is going to hurt a lot."
