I think I can answer this one for you. I lurk here a lot, I play SH3 with the GWX mod, and everything I've learned about that game came from this community.
To answer your question, it depends. If you love the silent hunter series and find a great deal of joy from better graphics, and more features than the last game, then yes, because you'll overlook whats annoying, and see the potential this game has. If you want flawless gameplay, and just want an incredibly immersive sub sim, then wait, this community is capable of amazing things.
