Most people complained about being able to ask for the weather while submerged. It's impossible to tell at 50 meters what's going on.

In fact, they
were the weather channel. BdU relied on captains to send in regular updates so they could tell where to route other u-boats.
All that said, I know for a fact it can be changed back, even if I don't know how. It shouldn't take long before someone comes along who is actually helpful.
