Realism? How about no savegames :P
I did have 1 out of 10 spotted airplanes attack me though, it turned around and dropped 2 depth charges at me

Better than nothing!
But yeah, at least half of them should attack. But who knows, maby they are on their way to another important mission, and just relay your position to their HQ instead? :P
