Any of the sidewinder sticks will beat the cheep Saitek sticks hands-down.
Better (and cheaper) to keep your sidewinder if it is a USB stick.
Of the 2 Saitek sticks I have, both have developed sensor problems. One
no longer centers and the other has lost part of it's range. I salvaged them
for parts long ago. My budget Logitech sticks have also developed similar
problems.
Saitek's more expensive sticks (x52) arn't trouble free after a few years, but
they are acceptable. Just keep your warranty details.
None of my 10+ Sidewinder sticks (of many variants and ages) have ever
developed any problems that couldn't be easily fixed.
I have the CH Pedals as well and have repaired other peoples CH pedals in
the past. They can develop an output jitter, but this is easily fixed. Very
good product.
You can get some material from a carpet shop to stop your rugs slipping about.
This stuff is perfect to stop rudder pedals slipping about on your floor too.
Carpet underlay also works somewhat well for this job.
Of course, almost all sidewinder sticks have a twist rudder built in, so you don't
have to spend money on pedals if they are not important to you.
If you don't plan to buy pedals, make sure you have a twist stick.
Avoid the Saitek pedals. Mechanical and electronic problems that arn't worth fixing.
