I found that the subs in SHIV lost 100% integrity for compartments far far far more often than the SHIII subs (no idea wich is more realistic)

But it means those back from the grave moments are rarer in SHIV.

I sat for 24 hours on the bottom racing against the clock to beat flooding and then finally getting engine repairs done so we could get off the deck in SHIII it was a real "Das Boot" moment.

I find however that hitting a subnet at 1knot in SHIV causes 100% damage, and if your not on the surface your dead, its just a matter of waiting for the inevitable.

So far the only real fun moment I had in SHIV with damage was when a Blenheim caught me and destroyed a rear compartment on my 7B.
At flank speed I managed to stay afloat although my back end stayed under water, and was making my way home.

Unfortunatly it was daylight and some 30 fighter attacks later I went down and never came back up.

But that was rare, ussually its "plonk" ooops sorry captain I dropped my pen and destroyed the hull.

then we sink and never ever come back up. I wonder if the hull is too weak, or the flooding too rapid ?

Or perhaps it is more realistic.. who knows.
