I remember sometime in 1980, I saw a game between the Capitals and Islanders at the Capital Centre (r.i.p., fair arena, and **** you, USMC reject powertripping security douchebags). It was pointed out to me that one of the Islanders "..had been on the American Olympic team which got the Gold."
And that's my story associated w/the "Miracle On Ice."

I remember more stuff about luge and how Randy Gardner's physical problem screwed up his and his partner Tai Babilonia's chances to advance in figure skating. (Turns out they didn't retire from figure skating until 2008!!)
