These boot.ini switches can be used in all the 32-bit Windows systems.
It's a lengthy discussion, but shortly it's all about the amount of virtual memory an application can address. Nothing to do with physical RAM you have. Normally there is the User-Mode and Kernel-Mode portion of the virtual memory. Without the /3GB switch, an application can only hold 2GB of information in User-Mode memory. The CTDs we experience might point to an exhaustion of this virtual memory. That's why the larger mods recommend this switch...
/USERVA switch is another parameter to modify this virtual memory allocation, I say they won't effect you much, use a recommended value between 2900-3030.
What Han recommends is pretty good enough for me.
JC, the mods you have in your list are huge, I can never run the lightmaps+FM(Interior)+Luca'sOpenCT+DasBoot Subpens

I have to choose one over the other, couldn't yet figure out why...
