Other DRM issues aside, if the system requirements say you need a constant internet connection and you don't have that, you don't meet the system requirements.

It's not the lack of a net connection, it's the fact that one should not be required in the first place. Hell, it wouldn't be as bad if it did one check on launch, then left you alone. If your net goes down while the game is running, it's no big deal unless you exit the game, but the way they have gone about it, even the slightest hiccup will pause the game and ruin your day.
