During his time in the USAF my father was stationed in Taiwan. As he explained to me, of all the cuisine he sampled perhaps the worst was snake soup. Appearantly it consisted of a gutted snake cut into chunks and simply boiled.
That's kept me away from ever eating the things. That and being a softy for snakes, since I did own three of them as pets as a child. Pretty enjoyable if you're looking for a low-maintenance creature to keep around the house.
