Nope, totally unnecessary I think. Even if I want to backup my savegames online, I can do it myself, using a space I create or rent.
Although there are people amongst us that aren't able to deal with their savegames, and keep a backup or do anything useful for their data.. So they need this great service from Ubi. (Hint hint, Lt. something)
