You forgot to include the part where the first mods will become unusable after the first patch is released, and then will be updated. New versions will become useless after the second patch. Some modders will move on to other things, and some great mods will disappear from the downloads sites. Another patch will come out, and collections will be created, which will then become unusable after the next patch.
The big collections that stick around for a long time will form once the game is stable, with no more patches disturbing the released mods. So, it will be a while before really amazing things happen, possibly years down the road things that were declared to be impossible will even be solved.
But the journey and the wait for that big mod in the future can still be fun. And you can even get in on it. You've got time to learn to mod, and a desire for the best game. Get to work.
