Dear paranoid,

The information for which terrapin is asking is not something I would usually consider "personal" such as a Social Security number (for U.S. folks), driver's license, passport, credit card information, etc.
  • - Name: Use your initials
    - Username: No problem - use a handle like "waste gate"
    - Password: No problem - make one up you use only for this site.
    - e-mail: No problem - that's why I have a spam filter.
FWIW, I believe and trust terrapin protects this information to the best of his (and his ISP's) ability; however, I generally assume there is no assurance that any information is completely safe, be it given at a website or on a credit/loan application. In this case, I believe the risk of ID theft or other such mischief is minimal, given the lack of financial or other critical identification information that is being given to terrapin's site.

Hope this helps.
