Casual? The ones I'd call "casual" just go to a dedicated website, and download all stuff from there, with just a tiny set of instructions to know what to do with the files and where to place them. So, I don't really think the protection slows them at all. One would need to be extremely unfamiliarized with the stuff to really think it ain't worth the complication.
