In my personal experience it does seem to help some. But it is hard to put a quantitave number on it.
Too many variables to make a positive assesment.
Like I said it "seems" to help. I would assume it was otherwise include it in the game other than a money (renown) sink.
Im sure someone here will dissect the data files and tell us.
