sometimes you get those missions in a dead zone with no traffic so i will just zip past the time limit on TC then go look for my tonnage elseware.
those missions dont require the ships to be sunk in your area just that YOU stay in that area for the time specified so you can get your tonnage anywhere you want once your "time on station" part of the mission has been completed
