I tried the first suggestion, changing the number from 7 to 1 and it seems to be working. I suspect the second idea would work as well.
Thanks guys....I just tried my first mission on my first campaign. Was approaching a merchant ship and then a warship started to approach me. Thought I was submerged and silent running...then I realized that my parascope was up.
... doah. The DD ran over me.....
