This notice comes up because of the copy protection on the disk. As soon as you have installed,
not launching the game first, you need to install the patch ( which is the correct one despite the spurious message) and then run certain software that will remove the starforce. I fear it is verboten to say what it is on here, so google it. It replaces several key files in the games folder. That should get you going unless (like me) you have other problems as well.
