Just finished my first patrol of a new career with Rub 1.43 and I must extend much thanks to all of the contributing modders. This is exactly what I've been looking for in this sim. Went up to my assigned AM patrol grid just due West of Scapa Flow and it was quite quiet for the entire 24 hour duration. The crew was getting restless, and it being 5:00am here and pulling an all nighter so was my cup of coffee. "Where dem' boats, capitan?"
Then during one of my last routine hydro checks on a course home South along the AM grids and then up through the channel Karl picked up a fat lovely "Large Cargo". It took me a while to figure out it what it was cause I've never encountered one until I had a good look in the rec. manual. I also counted its rpms through the hydrophone but couldn't really tag a speed on it with that since I had no reference to use it against (I use the chart from the soundtrainer mod). So my stopwatch/nomograph/measuring method had no secondary confirmation. Took me 4 fish to put that thing to the bottom. 1 missed in my initial salvo and then 1 of the latter salvo detonated prematurely (also new to the whole charting/plotting manually, this mod is excellent for that). Had to sail home after that - as fuel was tight and the crew was getting stressed out. One ship, and 11k of tonnage. Very fine in my eyes of a realistic tonnage count for a patrol (only one, but one very heavy ship).
Can't get enough of SH3 with the amazing mods steaming out of the docks. Halifax and his boat, "The Lucky Lucy" extend

out.
