I have used the program with GWX3.0 with the 8, 16, and the 20 Km atmospheric mods without any problems.
You should note that there are two mods of stop the rain; one for the 8Km and one for the 16Km.
Since the mod is used briefly and then deactivated, any changes are temporary and of no great importance.
The game is unplayable with heavy fog, 15Km winds, heavy rain. Since this can go on for several weeks (of game time), and if you play with 100% realism and no stabilized views, the game becomes a marathon of watching paint dry.
The weather system is broken in SH3.
