What's the problem ?
I mean, if the 688's can't accomodate women on board, wait until those boats are scraped and the new generation of subs goes active. I suppose those new boats will be constructed to accomodate female sailors. And therefore this problem will be resolved once and for all.
And don't think its impossible. France up to now has had exclusively no female aboard nuclear subs (ssn's and ssbn's). But the new generation of ssn's (the Suffren class) is being designed in such a way to accomodate female crew members. And finally sex parity on subs will become a reality.
If the french can do it, you poor americans surely can do it too.
