You know, the Japanese based a new factory in Canada instead of the United States. You know why? Because of Canada's public health care system. They figured Canadian workers were less likely to miss work due to illness and sickness, it would be cheaper for the parent company, and so on. (I just did a quick google and couldn't find an immediate source, and I don't really have time to look for the story, right now).

When people are forced to go to the Emergency Room as their first result because they can't get health care any other way, who winds up paying for it? Would it be cheaper if they had some basic health care in the first place, and nipped health problems in the bud before they got catastrophic enough to have to go to the E.R.?

Furthermore, the large entities which are against health care reform: do you think they are motivated by a desire to do the common good, or greed?
