That's with the 1.2.1 patch installed as well. Guess it's at least patched correctly.

I don't know, like I said this is an unfamiliar issue to me. Give it a spin, see if the slowdowns are gone. That thread I linked to earlier might help.

* running out of VRAM? Turn down graphics, particularly texture details.

** regular crap: latest driver version, latest DX9 version, perhaps SP3 for XP.

*** or maybe an older driver.

A driver that was around when Crysis was released may have been used for actual testing of the game, making it less likely to intefere with it. Really a long shot, that one.
