Well it was posted at 4 am and you posted at 3:30 pm, during this time many of us were at work
But I agree, there are some very cool imagery there.
The publication of these images reminds me of an almost interesting story.
Back in the 70's the US DIA's charter said it was responsible for storing
all intelligence related imagery.
All, meant all. Including German aerial imagery during WW II.
In the late 1970's Congress gave DIA authorization to no longer store this German imagery. DIA was planning to destroy a significant amount due to lack of storage space.
Well the National Archives out of St Louis objected and requested DIA to send to them
all of the German imagery.
(I heard the results from one of the archivists during one of my research efforts)
Seven, C-141 Aircraft landed at Scott AFB with the imagery
C-141s can carry a mega cubic butt load of imagery.
The National Archives archivists thought DIA had a few filing cabinets of imagery.. maybe a truck load or two. DIA had several warehouses full of just the German imagery. One of the many things the Germans were good at was collecting and storing aerial imagery.
Lesson to future archivists: Make sure you know how much before you say "send it all".
