Default Calculated Risk

'The definition of a calculated risk is a gamble which military men take when they can't figure out what else to do and which turns out to be right. When it turns out wrong, it wasn't a calculated risk at all. It was a piece of utter stupidity.'
Rear Admiral Daniel V Gallery USN

Came across this the other day. Was reading about the capture of U-505, which is now in a museum in Chicago. The hunter group that captured the sub was commanded by Gallery and reading a quick bio of him threw up this quote.
Made me laugh!
