I think on the same website there is a few articles of a few U-Boats that didn't or refused to surrender that easily...
I remember a story in Readers Digest years and years ago of a U-Boat sailing into a small quiet harbor in either Maine or Nova Scotia, docked on a fishing wharf and surrendered to the town constable. In the story the kaptain had to go into the village to find someone of authority to initiate the surrender.
I guess in both ways surrendering wasn't that easy.
