Yeah I've played on those kinds of servers. Great fun, but COD 2 pretty much killed the franchise for me. I enjoyed the game for about a year I think. I would not have given it that long had it not been for those realism servers.
I have not tried any COD game after COD2. It really did kill the game for me. No way in hell was I going back unless they released one on pc only (pretty funny that, right after that, they released one on console only). Desperate for a new multiplayer fps game, I
almost gave WAW a try, but I watched a bunch of videos and thought it sucked. In all the vids I've seen it was just small engagements in equally small maps.
