I've been playing SH3 one way or another on xp with star force since release on several different pc's without any problems.
My only star force issue came when I wanted to run with 64 bit os.
Otherwise, why complicate things.

There is a thread on here somewhere about how to overcome issues with steam SH3 / GWX
