done that at first but in-game all i got was a blue space
between the compartments.
i could go through it into the tower, but no open hatch

maybe the end result will only be something for highend pc's but i think it's the only way for open hatch.

edit: i've done many improvements to the compartments over the time,
mostly smoothed and rounded off the instruments (there where just too much edges),
this means of course many more polygons in every room but so far no performance problems.
