Heh funny story about Oblivion for me too.
When I first got it I realized my old video card wasent gonna cut it.
I went out and bought a new ati x1800 (new at the time). Installed it and wow what a difference smooth as butter. But wow that fan sure is noisy its spinnig for all its worth. Oh well Ill get used to it.
So there I am sneaking around in another infernal tower lining up a shot on a dremora when there was a loud "SNAP" the screen goes blank and the smell of ozone fills the room.
I just sat there and stared at the black screen with that erie 'oh ****' feeling comming over me.
The fuse in the power supply had blown (a fuse actually worked for once). Duh.. the old power supply could not supply enough current and finally popped the fuse. No other damage. The fan was running its ass off due to the switching power supply trying to keep the voltage up while overloaded.
New power supply and have been cruising along ever since. Till last night.
