It's quite invaluable to people who cannot type with two hands, or don't even have two hands...
It's meant as a tool to assist the less-abled that (reasonably) still want to be able to use a computer.
Heck, I sometimes have enough trouble typing properly and (supposedly!) there's nothing the matter with me.
