I remember there was a time when there was a jellyfish invasion out near Long Island. The beaches were closed because of it. Now, me and my friend decided to go out in a boat and go fishing. My friend didn't know about the jellyfish. So... we're out there, I stand up to move to a new seat and my friend starts screwing around. He rocks the boat and my clumsy ass fell overboard, right into a massive cloud of the slimy bastards. Of course I didn't have a shirt on and I was wearing shorts so they were ALL OVER ME ! I can't even describe the pain. ! And they stick to you like freakin' glue. Once I got in the boat, we were scraping them off me for quite some time. It took a nice hospital visit and a LOT of painkillers to get me through that.
I also used to drop crab traps off the docks near my grandfather's boat when he'd work on it. I pulled up a trap once and there was a nice sized blue crab in there. I went to grab him, and I didn't realize that the thing was standing on top of a jellyfish that had also come up with the trap. I got stung by the jellyfish, panicked, and because I wasn't watching, the damn crab whirled around and latched onto my hand as I jerked it back. I freaked and swung the crab repeatedly, banging it against a post till it let go and flew back into the water. My hand still has the scars from that one.
I hate Jellyfish.
