You're the second one who has made a remark like that! Normally, mods loaded later would automatically overwrite earlier loaded mods, but in certain circumstances, it doesn't seem to be happening. Wonder if something has changed in JSGME.
Being an amateur astronomer, I know something about color filters, and have also studied its use in periscopes. In the real sub they had a filter wheel with multiple filters in it. Nobody just used one color. In practice there were suggestions on what would help and what wouldn't, with lots of weasel words. The method of using them was to switch different colors while observing a target to experimentally see which filters helped you see what you wanted.
With the SH4 filter mod, you have the choice of what's selected or what's selected. You can't change colors and you can't remove the filter. That makes the filter mod next to useless for historical reality or visual augmentation purposes. The filter mod is a good enough idea but the game architecture won't let you switch or remove filters, making the mod a mere shadow of what it should be if it is to be useful.
