It was a standing rule in my house that my daughter was not allowed to date anyone I haven't met. That wasn't much of an issue, my daughter complied with the rule.
It wasn't until the third guy she brought home she finally asked me "How come every time I bring someone home to meet you, you're always cleaning your guns?"
I simply explained to her that good preventive maintenance didn't apply to just cars and equipment. I also told every one of them "I love my daughter more than I love my freedom <wink>".
