if this error came up in MM3D, my modeling program, it would take a couple of minutes to edit the groups. I would delete the groups and make just one new group, with a simple material, mine usually is 01 and it's simple as pie to re-import

but if you are having flipped faces try unselecting the reverse face winding option.
