I'm assuming that it was probably that it was the ships losing their waypoints and drifting for some reason. Who knows. I started a new career and drove past there again on the same day and time that I saw the "catastrophe" and everything seemed fine this time. *Shrug* no biggie. Just some ships that those Brits won't be able to throw against me later I guess.
