Richard Dean Anderson is known for having done many of the stunts on the series, though in later seasons he reduced his stunt participation because of accumulating injuries. He injured his back and required a foot surgery because of his accidents working as a stuntman.[9]

I remember his injuries affecting his career and what he would do and not do for stunts. It is just his age catching up to him. I did read that his program was more than than just 60 minutes of dribble. Each episode did attempt to send a message. With exception of the first episode of McGyver he never had a gun. He did not want a gun as a result of some childhood incident that did not end well for his friend. Strange how things shape ones life.
