1. The problem might disappear when the 3D model is imported from 3DS MAX to SH3 using S3D tool and conversion from GMax is avoided. The link to the S3D thread

2. As I said in the your other thread, I have been able to improve the minesweeper look in SH4 by detaching some elements in polygons of the 3D model.
As to SH5, we have to see what changes and additions to file formats are introduced. Those can make current tools for SH3/SH4 unusable for SH5.
