This is a custom emblem I've been using in SH3 it's based on a trading card from a german magazine from around the 1930's. It's an optical illusion. I thought it'd be cool because it's time period specific and it could very well have been something a U-boat captain would see and be inspired to use. It's simple but it looks authentic. I've included a pic of the actual card as well. The png is in a black square (might not be visible depending on your background color).
