I prefer to fire mine from the bow to the rear, mostly during the day. The way ships speed up if they see torps coming in the day they can outrun the rear and often zig to miss the others. Usually they will slow down and the front one may hit or miss, but that fixes them and the others will usually hit.

Most important is to get all the torps on the way together ASAP. I will even close the door for one, open the door for others, so they all meet the target at about the same time.
