The green sub icon and green/orange mark on the periscope/UZO can be removed by enabling higher levels of realism in your realism section before starting the mission- try making life more real, and they will disappear.
In GWX it is not possible to see where you are in close up map views- zoom out more and more until you will then see where you are as a black circle.
