Actually its not a bad deal for something this mobile that can perform(in some cases) outperform current desktops. The architecture is dual core, but configured to operate on one core only. You can also connect monitors to it, mice, other peripherals, WLAN, Ethernet, etc. See the online users manual for more details if interested..
But yeah, what we see here is obviously a mark-up.. A couple of years ago I paid less than 1K which was over 50% of its initial value because newer models were being released..
Buying one now with would be ridiculous when you can get better performance and cost savings elsewhere.
