ok when you did the "mods" folder replacement did you reuse the mods you moved or did you use fresh new downloaded or unzipped copies of the mods because maybe the mods themselves were corrupted.
if none if this helps then reinstall the game along with fresh new downloaded or unzipped copies of the modsis your best option
