The America I grew up in once believed (still does supposedly) that people should be allowed to believe anything, read anything, and display anything that they want (with in reason). The idea was also that TRUTH has nothing to fear from facts or ideas of any type.
So growing up those who considered themselves well read were expected to have read Mein Kampf, along with anything else available from Nazi Germany. Also that would include Communist dogmas and about anything else under the sun.
I know many Americans view the fact the Germany today does not allow Nazi emblems in such things as games to be the same thing as tyrany - MIND CONTROL - no different than something Hitler might create.
If the Germans can't handle Nazi dogma today, it would either mean that the said dogma was somehow true and must thus be hidden lest it overwhelm the German people, or it would mean that the Nazi dogma is BS, but that the German populous lacks common sense and are like children who must be led around by the nose.
I am part Native American - a term I hate because it is politically correct - and thus I refer to myself as an 'INJUN'. Nothing gives dogmas or words more power than FEAR of them. Like '******'. Yeah, I can use that term since in the school I attended of 700 white boys I was often called ******. Its how I learned to fight. But you European pussy-whips seem never to understand that you can't legislate common sense. Your people will only learn to see through crapy dogma if they are allowed to learn it and get past it.
Do you remember getting picked on by other boys in your neighborhood? Would your mother coming out to PROTECT you have made things BETTER? Or worse? You in Europe are always wanting governments that are big MAMAs. Hence your population never grows up. The European mama-governments need to allow the Germans the freedoms to openly connect with their Nazi past. Only in this way will those emblems lose their old power. Anything made 'naughty' continues both to retain its power and to gain in power. I am not saying Germany should allow people to form the old Nazi party, though perhaps even that would be a good idea.
I recall how when I was a kid (before 3 rifles took down JFK in Dallas) an American could verbally threaten the President's life, or threaten all kinds of murder, but the police would just say, until the guys actually does something we can't do a thing. A lot of people made threats. But few ever did anything. Most people like that blew off steam and cooled off. And their big mouths alerted people to their twisted thinking and this has value too. Now, such nuts mainly remain QUIET, and you don't see them until they show up with a gun.
Its too bad Europe (and now America) can't trust their people to be free. If people are not trusted, they will never become trustworthy.
