Came across a convoy on my last patrol which had HMS Rodney sitting at the back. (my 5th patrol in my VII)
I put two eels into her but she just slowed down and fell back.
I wouldnt normally take a suicidal risk but decided to try down her with my 88mm.
I decided that a range of 8500m would be enough so I surfaced in the dark and got ready for some fun. After a good 10 rounds on to Rodney she fired back.
Im decided to dive to get out of the way, sadly I took a few shells. I had no flak gun, periscopes or radio and some flooding.
A quick peek on the external view showed Rodney with only 1 working gun so I popped back up and started to put a few more shells into her.
Luckily I got the down in time for Rodneys next attack and got the shes going down message.
Sadly at the time I had no eels left , I might not have taken the risk otherwise.
I had the fortune of sinking my first S type on my 4th patrol, she had sat on the surface after repeated attacks on the convoy she was in. Easiest kill ever
