Depending on the state of the sea of course, try to fire your gun not too many degrees of your bow, so you can see the gun's barrel going up and down, so you can ajust. If you fire too many degrees off from your bow straight ahead, you won't be able to see the gun's barrel anymore, and it's up and down motion will accentuate due to the sub's roll.
I suppose you know the "Tab" magnifies your target's view. you can push up to twice.
Also for aiming, on the left scale, choose about ~ 200 m less than the real distance from the target.
Aim just below the target's water line. Best is when you see a splash immediately followed by a bright reddish or yellow flash. That's the most efficient spot in height. Laterally, you ajust according the type of target, and their respective compartment locations.
