The video shows 1, possibly 2 (If one considers how the water looks before the hit), big blasts, while fire from a submachine gun as seen would have made many smaller splashes. The color of the water and the ambiance in the parts before/after and during the submachine gun footage is clearly different, also the direction in which the shooter fires compared to the camera is completely wrong compared to the footage where you see the gun supposedly hitting the man.

Yes the whole video is not a continuous peace of work. The whole video is made from many filmed peaces and joined in one in logical line. That is the only edit that I can see. Otherwise it wouldn't fit to 6:54 time. I could argue about how high the water splashes from a submachine gun would be (with/without object contact in the water) but I think it is also irrelevant. Color of the water can change in the ocean from the angle you're looking at the water, even the waving can slightly change the color tone of the water.
Shooter fires into the left, then camera shows splashes around victim to the right. This can also lead that there were more than one camera man on board filming the same moment. One guy was filming the shooter, another at the same time the victim in the water. Later those peaces were joined in together.
