Yep, I was right (unfortunately)....
I took a picture of myself and cut it down to the right pixel size and then slapped it into the DDS format file over top of the officer picture in the upper left of the post above.
I loaded the game and 2 different people in the submarine had my face.
You only have like 12 icons/face pictures.. and it all depends on the crew member's rank as to what icon/picture it uses for the face of the crew member.
Hmmm... Still wish I could go in and put in custom pictures of the crew members...
I guess I could have 12 different IRL friend pictures in there and I'd just have to put up with it having repeat/multiple pictures for different people.
